What does the wood finishing process involve?
Wood finishing process involves all the measures taken to refine or protect a wooden surface. The process is one of the steps required in manufacturing furniture. Thanks to wood finishing it is easier to maintain the wood in a good condition and clean it. Its durability and resistance to moisture is also increased.
Basic wood finishing procedure involves planning, sanding (removing defects like cutter marks, scratches etc.), bleaching, removing stains and coloring. When all these steps are completed, the finish is applied. The finish consists of several layers (wax, oil, varnish etc.).
