Storage equipment is used to store and organise products or items in workshops, shops, larger offices, storerooms and warehouses. Storage equipments are included in the different types of bearing.
Types of Storage Equipment
There are several storage equipment types including metal, wooden or plastic shelving in addition to cabinets, drawers, cages, lockers, small external buildings (often portable) and more. Multi-purpose or bespoke for a specific task, storage systems are used in various industries and sectors including construction, agriculture and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) - especially food, pharmaceuticals, consumer electronics and plastic merchandise.
Important Considerations when Purchasing Storage Equipment Systems
Used storage equipment should be strong, so that it is safe and secure in use. When installing a system, important considerations include dimensions and weight (in particular, the maximum working load or MWL). It is essential that equipment is well made, adequate for purpose and provides an efficient and cost-effective solution. Humidity and waterproofing may be significant factors, along with product life.
Pallets and Mezzanines
Pallet racks are suitable for use with a forklift in warehouses or larger stores, making the products easier to handle in bulk volumes. Mezzanines offer extra storage by utilising previously unused vertical space, by means of steps and a raised platform.
