A history of LEITZ GmbH & Co. KG

LEITZ has always specialised in tools that process and shape wood. Over the years, LEITZ GmbH has formed corporate alliances with Boehlerit of Kapfenberg, Austria which specialises in tungsten carbide and materials for cutting diamonds, as well as with Bilz of Ostfildern, Germany which is a specialist in the technology of tool clamping. These companies have combined to form the LEITZ corporate group, which employs some 4,300 people worldwide with production facilities established over the years in Europe, America and Asia, as well as numerous service and sales companies globally.
