About FLEX
Founded in Germany in 1922, FLEX was originally known as Ackermann and Schmitt. The company was formed by Hermann Ackermann and Hermann Schmitt in order to manufacture and sell their new invention, the MS 6 hand-held grinding machine. The MS 6 featured an innovative flexible shaft driven by an electric motor and this inspired the tool's name of the Flex. In 1996, the company changed its name from Ackermann and Schmitt to FLEX.
Over the years, FLEX has cultivated a reputation for quality and innovation. The basic principles of the original Flex grinding tool are still in use today, although the product output continues to adapt, evolve and improve. In 2002, the company introduced 8 new technically advanced angle grinder models which included new features such as microprocessor controlled electronics. Long regarded as an innovator in the power tool equipment manufacturing industry, FLEX works with official dealers across Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Australia.
