DEPO GmbH is a Germany maker of machining centers, tools and tooling systems and software aimed at the gear industry, the die and mould industry and at general engineering industries. The company is based in the small village of Marienfeld, near the city of Gütersloh in the North Rhine-Westphalia region.

A history of DEPO GmbH & Co. KG

DEPO GmbH & Co. KG was founded in 1989, by Heinz Deitert, an engineer with long experience in the die and mould machine industry. His aim was to develop a much more efficient technology for milling than was currently available, and to this end, he set up a small factory in Marienfeld. His central idea was that making ways of milling more efficient, with matching tools, meant that, for clients, there would be an increase in their productivity on their production lines. This concept led DEPO GmbH & Co. KG to early success with its products, and the company says this is because of the reliability, innovation and flexibility that DEPO prides itself on. DEPO's motto is to provide a "complete solution from one source". In 1996, DEPO Germany established its machine tool technology line and all of its products continue to be made in Germany. A key selling point remains the integration of milling with machine tools to offer maximum economy to clients. Software has now become a key part of DEPO's business, and the company's GearEngineer software calculates and illustrates three dimensional models from two dimensional data. DEPO says that both for the present and the future, service is critical for the company's continued success. Development of future products remains a key part of what DEPO does today.
